Faith in Christ
We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We believe in, and try to live by, the teachings of Jesus.

What we believe
We are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We believe in, and try to live by, the teachings of Jesus. We believe Jesus is the son of God, as stated in the new testament (John 1:35, 1 John 4:9 & 5:5, ) and in the Book of Mormon (Mosiah 3:8, Helaman 5:12, 3 Nephi 5:13 & 9:15, Mormon 7:5).
We believe Jesus lived a perfect sinless life. That He suffered and died for all mankind that we might be forgiven for sin, strengthened in times of weakness, lifted in times of sorrow, released from darkness in times of despair or depression, and filled with joy because of His grace and mercy.
We believe that through faith in His atoning sacrifice and sincere repentance (a desire to change our hearts) we can become spiritually whole – be forgiven and healed from sin (Isaiah 1:18, 25:8 & 53:1-12, Matthew 9:2, Mark 2:5, Luke 5:20 & 7:48, Enos 1:5).
We believe Jesus rose from the dead three days after His crucifixion, thus overcoming death and guaranteeing a perfect resurrected body for all, never to die again (Job 19:26, Daniel 12:2, Matthew 27:22 & 23, Acts 24:15, Romans 6:5, 1 Nephi 10:11, 2 Nephi 2:8, Jacob 4:11, Mosiah 16:8, Alma 11:41, 11:45 & 41:4, Mormon 9:13).
We believe that in 1820 God, our Heavenly Father and his Son, Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith. Soon after this visitation, another heavenly messenger appeared to Joseph telling him about a record of ancient people that lived on the American continent. Joseph translated the record through the gift and power of God. That record, The Book of Mormon. We believe it is another testament of Jesus Christ, a companion to the Holy Bible. The Book of Mormon testifies of Christ, his life, and teachings. It is a witness that the New Testament is a true record of Jesus' life and divinity.
Through Joseph Smith, Jesus Christ restored the same Church He had established in ancient times, which is known today as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We believe that Christ speaks to the world and leads His church through a modern Prophet and Apostles. You can read and hear the words of the prophet and apostles today and twice each year during the Church's General Conferences, held in April and October.
Most of all, we believe that God is our loving Heavenly Father. That He loves all His children – which includes every person who ever lived or will live. We believe that our Heavenly Father's greatest joy is for each one of His children to return to His presence after this life (Moses 1:39).
We believe that because He loves us, each of our lives have purpose and meaning, and that He has an eternal plan for us. Our Heavenly Father knows each one of us personally and wants us to communicate with Him through prayer (Matthew 7:7 & 8, 3 Nephi 14:7 & 8). We believe He is the source of all light and knowledge and that when we pray He will answer.
We believe that part of His plan is for families to be together forever. Through making and keeping sacred covenants with God all His children can be reunited with their family members after death.
